Kanjō—named after the Japanese word for “emotion” or “feeling”—is a contemplative sculpture that distills the language of facial expression into an abstract, tactile form. Inspired by the quiet complexity of human emotion, each piece invites touch, reflection, and personal interpretation.

Designed as an interactive object, Kanjō responds to movement: it rotates, revealing shifting profiles that echo the fluidity of mood. With each turn, the sculpture becomes a mirror for the viewer’s inner state—serene, tense, curious, calm. 

This edition is 3D printed in sand, chosen for its raw tactility and natural depth. Like all Kanjō pieces, it reflects a design philosophy rooted in presence, permanence, and emotional resonance. The material is not concealed—it’s revealed. It invites touch, embraces imperfection, and carries the quiet poetry of earth made form—just like when we were children, shaping spheres of sand on the beach, forming them gently in the palms of our hands.

Each Kanjō includes a hand-signed certificate of authenticity from Architect and Artist Roy David.
